2012 Scholarship exams cut-off marks to be released on Jan 7

The cut-off marks for the 2012 Grade 5 scholarship exam will be released on January 7, the Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena said today. However cut-off marks for those who sat for the exam will be delayed by three days, he added.

Way to go OSA UK!!! We are really happy to see all the good works you have been doing for the School. The website is amazing, now the world can see day to day activity at our school. I am sure the school will enjoy the renovated hall and the future canteen by JVC OSA UK. We will set a example for other schools being united and strong foreign OSA's (Australia, Canada & UK) and provide strong support to our school community. Happy to see the photos of the opening ceremony and it brings all the good memories of the school.

இலங்கையில் உள்ள பாடசாலைகள் யாவும் 2013ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான முதலாம் தவணைக் கற்றல் செயற்பாடுகளுக்காக இன்று ஆரம்பமாகின்றன.

யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில், யாழ். வேம்படி மகளிர் கல்லூரி, யாழ். மத்திய கல்லூரி, நெல்லியடி மத்திய மகா வித்தியாலயம் ஆகிய பாடசாலைகள் க.பொ.த. சாதாரணதரப் பரீட்சை வினாத்தாள் திருத்தப்படும்நிலையங்களாக செயற்படுவதால் அவை எதிர்வரும் 9 ஆம்திகதி ஆரம்பமாக உள்ளன.

அவுஸ்ரேலியாவிலிருந்து வருகை தந்த எங்கள் கல்லுர்ரியின் பழைய மாணவன் திரு.க.செந்தில்நாதன் அவர்கள் எமது ஆசிரியை அல்லிராணி அவர்களின் இல்லத்துக்கு வருகை தந்தார். அவரும் கல்லூரியின் EDC செயல்லாளர் கண்ணதாசன் அவர்களும் மதிய போசனம் அருந்தி மகிழ்தனர்.

Vasanthan Thanaraj died due to electric shock

Nineteen year old, Mr. V. Tanaraj, from Chulipuram ("Thurkai amman kovilady"), who tried to plug in the electricity wire which had exposed wires, died due to electric shock.

He was alone while trying this. He studied at Victoria College up to O/L and studying at Vaddu Hindu College, as there is no political science teacher at Victoria College (this also we have to look into). They were trying to play volleyball in the night. Before doing the proper wiring he wanted to do the temporary wiring and play the game just last night of the old year. Nobody can be blamed, it's purely fate and a tragedy.
